This summer while at Winterthur for an Artist Residency I got the privilege of driving around in the golf cart to collect specimens for my work. It was a huge honor and secretly a deep desire to have this kind of access to a place I have been frequenting since childhood! Heidi encouraged me to take what I needed, especially those plants that were “out of sight” - all of this links back to my Dad and his love of secretly plucking plants from gardens to eat them, smell them or in a few cases take them home!
